Poetry! Poetry! Poetry!
Sometimes whimsical; inspirational, too.
Occasionally, risque slips through.
Writing poetry is such a delight!
All of existence is grist for our mill.
Doesn't matter too much if we sell.
Journey from beginning line to the end,
At times, filled withsurprises that delight,
Or frightens us thro the night.
Regardless of tone; rhythm or rhyme.
The trips we take some times need to bake
For the readers sake.
Meaning, to poets, elusive can be,
Striving for clarity we stumble along,
Singing our song.
Songs to be heard by friends; relatives
And strangers, too.
Will our meaning come through?
Yet not so important as evoking the readers'
Memories and thoughts.
For this is one of our tasks, I believe:
We share the journeydown life's road
Hoping to lighten someone else's load.

A touch of the philosophical and well done. I have something similar in another venue away from this site. Happy trails
