Flowers red and gold
Scream in the sweating night sky
One thousand heart beats
A scroll unfolds in the night
The clouds are filled with applause
Scream in the sweating night sky
One thousand heart beats
A scroll unfolds in the night
The clouds are filled with applause
Author notes
A poem inspired by the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics. My only complaint was that Sarah Brightman sang. I would have complained about it in the poem, but her name has no zen.
Here's a photo (by ERICH SCHLEGEL/DMN)in case you missed the show! http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/img/v3/08-09-2008.n1a_09Olympic_2.GMN2F1IF8.1.jpg

This was beautiful, you really captured a wonderful image. I loved the third line, the idea of all the hearts beating a once was really wonderful. I also really liked the final line, the concept of the clouds being filled with applause was magical. Great work and congratulations on the silver. Good job x
