They fought for us to have peace,
Now they are all wrapped in Gods Holy Fleece...
Their mortal remains lay in a field of the crossed overs,
The gallant men who were once world war soldiers...
A mere simple cross marks the spot,
But they have never been forgot..
Brave former soldiers amongst the rank and file in war,
Now a single cross in a line on our green earth floor..
Bravery beyond our wildest imagination,
But the equivalent loss of an entire nation..
Under the blue and white cloud sky,
Beneath green grass and windswept tree's nearby..
These soldier men uniformed in former battle,
Are laid to rest and eternally settle...
A stark and sad reminder of souls lost to war,
Yet making us respectful of peacetime even more...
Thanks to you gallant crossed over men,
Standing apart from the us and them...
Thank you for setting our country free,
May you all rest in peace in Normandy.
