Field of Crossed Over Soldiers

Missing image
Dedicated to the lost souls of wars.

They fought for us to have peace,
Now they are all wrapped in Gods Holy Fleece...

Their mortal remains lay in a field of the crossed overs,
The gallant men who were once world war soldiers...

A mere simple cross marks the spot,
But they have never been forgot..

Brave former soldiers amongst the rank and file in war,
Now a single cross in a line on our green earth floor..

Bravery beyond our wildest imagination,
But the equivalent loss of an entire nation..

Under the blue and white cloud sky,
Beneath green grass and windswept tree's nearby..

These soldier men uniformed in former battle,
Are laid to rest and eternally settle...

A stark and sad reminder of souls lost to war,
Yet making us respectful of peacetime even more...

Thanks to you gallant crossed over men,
Standing apart from the us and them...

Thank you for setting our country free,
May you all rest in peace in Normandy.

Contest The Lines of Crosses by Phantom Commander
The above picture was taken by my sister at Normandy.
Either write a poem inspired by the picture above or something about the
World War II era. It doesn't even have to relate to the war, just
something between the years of 1939 and 1945.
Okay, so, the rules:
~Type normal and don't be stupid about spelling and grammar.
So that was the only rule. Otherwise I don't care what you write me.
I will add more points when I judge this, so impress me! If I feel a poem
is worth a lot of points, then it's going to recieve a lot of points. Easy
as pi. Wait, not pi is complicated. Let's make it simple as pie.
Thanks,
Steph K.
Oh, and if you put the picture in your poem or use it as inspiration,
credit it to Nicole K. Thanks.
