As the sun goes down and the moon shines bright,
You look up above at the star-filled night.
They look so peaceful just twinkling in the dark,
Never moving an inch or releasing their mark.
Remember this beauty for they never truly last,
As one shoots across the sky just remember the past.
Try not to focus on the nothingness it leaves behind,
Just keep the beauty of a shooting star in the back of your mind.
Author notes
this is for wings of fire 27, for a poem of hers reminded me, life will always go on, but should you mourn for what was lost, or celebrate what once shone bright.
Is it better to mourn the loss of a star or celebrate the beauty of its last few minutes?

I find this a very positive, upbeat piece about seeing the beauty not the beast. I found the rhyme very good, very pro and the flow was just fantastic.

About the question..I think celebrate the beauty of its last few minutes is so much better
