~*Silence*~

The pitter patter of rain

Breaking the quiet

Watching the streaks

On my window pane

Siloutte on the wall

Inky darkness

Lingering scent

Erie fire light

Night falling quickly

Chasing the clouds

Echos of thunder

And to it all...

My eyes and my skin

Tell me so much more

For I have not ever head a sound..

Author notes

My take on the prompt is to lead a reader down a person's path of a not so silent world.. however the person being led is completely deaf and had never heard a sound.

This is a wonderfully creative entry. Your imagery brings the reader there; experiencing the rain, the shadows etc...I think it's neat how your acrostic for silence doesn't take away from the poem. Well done. Thank you for your entry

Interesting to visualize what it might be like not to hear the rain, just to see it, to feel it, to taste it, to touch it. DId you mean streaks in line 3? Liked the use of color in this acrostic part.

I liked the take on the prompt and thought the structure was clever particularly of the second stanza. I liked the fact you incorporated an acrostic verse and I also loved the use of the short line length which you used, that made the piece a joy to read. Best of luck in the contest and congratulations on a wonderful write x

Thanks Lane, My sister is partially deaf so she ends up missing part of the world; it impacts me because I sometimes forget she doesn't hear everything. thank you for your wonderful comment.
