Forgotten Fairytale

Majestic fantasy
envelopes with majesty
these blessed lands once filled with curse:
tale in which you are now immersed...

Once a cruel king owned the land
and ruled with iron fisted hand
death and decay swept every shore
magick dried up forever more -

or so it seemed, as was requested
and the earth was sorely tested;
so much murder, more deciet
the world lying at his feet...

Once a queen came to his door
offered advice and new repore.
Despite his evil, rancid heart
the king craved a brand new start -

and so he sent to every corner shown
on the globe as it was known
asked for myth to be reborn
apologising for his scorn....



The world did not accept
and his proposals did reject.
What foul beast were he to think
that he could muster such a stink
and then expect it to disipate:
he was subject to world-wide hate -
yes sir they were irate.
Yes sir it was too late.


One night when all was dark
and for food the guards embarked
while the king, he slept
and as the queen, she wept;

Of love she was bereft.
Her respect in dust was left.
Poison-tipped dagger raised above
she renounced her soul and too her love...


Blood flew across the walls;
crenating as it falls...
but true, his spell was broken
and no sooner was his death spoken
that the flowers bloomed once more.
Flora and fauna rebuilt repore
and finally the sun returned
to feed whatever for it yearned;

It was a splendid, pleasant day,
when all creatures returned to play:
from griffins, dragons, satyrs
to faeries, unicorns and lyres -

The world was once more at its peace
freed by evils sweet release.
