Sheltered

Sitting in your picture perfect house,
you've never so much as seen a mouse.
You've never gone hungry a day in your life,
you've never known real heartache and strife.
The worst thing you've had happen to you,
is when your mom tells you something you can't do.
It makes me sick to think of your "pain",
there isn't anything in life you cannot gain.
You're not effected by high prices and tax,
you don't understand hard workers breaking their backs.
You don't understand the concept of grey,
you were taught black and white is the only way.
The world you live in just doesn't exist,
hidden behind your cloud of mist.

Great poem! It is frustrating when people live in their own little sheltered worlds and don't have a clue about the struggles and pains of others. That black and white thinking is where far too many people get stuck in their harsh judgements of others. Love the poem. Blessings, Patty
