The Earth, the Moon, and the Sun, pt. 2 (The Sun Burn)

Weathered from as mission of the sordid kind
The fleet must rest, all ships aside
The captain sits back and abides
by rules that first had made me cry

One more silent dinosaur
A pool of blood upon the floor

...And all I see now is covered in grass
Just one more tomb I must surpass
Reaching for fires beyond my grasp
A deafening hex that seems to last
Hurricanes made us go too fast

Green and red are in the vision
Fire and brimstone melt all but friction
And you never saw the scream
The one I doubt you'd believe

The fangs are dripping venom

The sunburns are rotting
From the heart to the soul
A fire set so deep
In stones you'll never know
And another star weakens
Cursed by the bitter cold
Worried he'll collapse, thinking
Of that he's never shown

The volcano's eruption
Came without interrogation
Six lives were altered
This was undesirable
And so I started sweating
The moon became a crescent
The lady's screams never end
And I'm sorry forever more

I'll speak once again
I can never say "enough"
This will never end...
The venom's effect is abrupt

Author notes

The conclusion. This brings back some excruciatingly painful memories. I'll never be able to emphasize the third line in the last stanza enough.
