An over cast night
Takes away all the light
And leaves me bear
Casting so much fear
A darkened sky
As here I do lie
Trying so hard to see
What lies before me
The moon nowhere to be found
No more do I hear that genteel sound
Cold winds blow across the breeze
Watching you go as I’m falling on my knees
Clouds cover all that is
Taking that which was not his
The twinkle of the stars I wish to see
Why did he take that from me?
The nights so black, way past blue
When all I really want is to see you
So here I am all alone
With nothing but this stone
No lights to hold up high
No one to tell me why
Cold tears run down my face
As I’m stuck in this darkened place
