Trying hard to scream for help
but somehow I just can't.
I was bitten on my big toe
by a big red fire ant.
I tried to knock it off
but it was really mean.
It seems to have climbed inside
does that mean it's the queen?
I still feel it biting
somehow the bite still clings.
No sign of the ant there
but oh my how it stings!
Trying ice and alcohol
(the kind you use inside)
They recommend the rubbing kind
that I've already tried.
It took its mandibles
they opened up real wide
emptied out the poison sack
and put it all inside.
Now the poison's in my toe
I can barely walk.
As you have noticed
by now I'm sure
I am able still ...
to talk.
