I put on all my make-up
we call them 'beauty aids'.
Sometimes women need it
with age their beauty fades.
So much for glam
and with it all it's glory
now so I don't bore you
I'll get on with my story.
Make up on and hair arranged
dressing too is through.
I've chosen the movie
that we're going to.
Arriette has been invited
we'll pick her up at five.
She's ready and waiting
when we finally arrive.
I've not been out in ages
excitement at the core.
I'm sneaking in some low-carb treats
that I bought at the store.
I'll buy the high priced soda
go to dinner maybe after
In the car away we go
all smiles and laughter.
Not even half way there
someone makes a joke
It's about the thermostat
then we see the smoke.
Ariette wasn't joking
no, it seems she's not.
We pull over really fast
the car is really hot.
We turned around and made it home
Batman I'll have to miss
Then we called Triple A
and gave the ground a kiss.
The story could end better
the price is really high
They want three grand to fix it
and we all want to cry.
Author notes
BatMan is about the ride to see the movie ... Rob Him is about the price to fix our car.
