Tediously glued into place
Around images of loved ones
Family and friends are prominent
So many pictures, so many places
Notes from all over the world
Gently taped, then decorated
A little glitter or some stickers
Perfect..
A memento of things of the past
Things we wanted to remember
At least for the time that we have
Pages become worn and tattered
And then it's like we never existed
Pages missing, wet, or weathered
Ink smears and words guessed at places
And this is what our history will be
Imperfect...
Lips, eyes, and other parts of beautiful people
Cover the black book binding and pink spine
To remind of the imperfection on the outside
Before you even begin to look into the inside
Pages placed with loving care to remind the world
That she was there...
Author notes
This was done thinking about my life, about the things I will leave behind.. Then I thought about the scrap book that me and my mother started for my birthday when I was real young. This piece is pretty personal. Kind of twisted in a way, but personal still.. Hope you enjoy.
Tell me what you think..

this is a great write,
a scrap book of memories,
but nothing fades really as we always have them alive in our minds..
well done

this is great. i love this. i scrapbook myself and it makes me almost nostalgic to remember things when i put the pictures on the pages and then i think, what will they look like years from now...
good read, excellent story.
One suggestion, not sure of this though. When I read this line it read awkwardly to me:
Placed and glued tediously (could you say tediously placed and glued, or placed and tediously glued?)

I love your write here. There's so much realness in the fact that we are judged about so many things these days that it's rediculous. You have kindled my thoughts with this great piece. Keep on writing!

I don't see anything twisted
about recollecting on your past, your storytelling ability is superb. I LOVE THIS, somewhat bittersweet piece.
