They're coming to take me away...

I tried get away this summer
but didn’t get far before
his memory snatched me
and had me imprisoned.
It was a cramped room
6 feet by two
and very, very cold.
Paced back and forth
back and forth
across pink panoramic
of tight eyelids to keep
myself warm and did
some hard time
at night.  Black
labyrinth of thought
twisted and turned;
corkscrewed painfully
and breath whistled through
as it bit back
my screams.  I didn't cry
out.  Not once. Got released
on the fourth of September
in a ticker parade of used
post-it notes
or maybe it was leaves
from our tree?  Ah well,
nothing really matters
to us

newly insane.

"nothing really matters to us...newly insane." Jeeeeezus, I love that line! Kath, this is terrific.
You have such skill and talent as a writer - I am at a
loss to try and find words most times after reading you.
Like now, so here is a huge hug! Love, Lane

Thanks hon, but trust me, most of it's rant and ramble. But again, how sweet. I have alot of catching up to do around here. My muse is so damn tired lately, or maybe it's just me... argh. I'm off to bed. Saturday night, I'm such an animal... .
          lol.
I'll be slaving in the kitchen all day tomorrow, Thanksgiving and all. Extra teenagers coming, some kids that weren't welcomed at home, god knows I make enough for 50 people. lol.
Maybe Monday, I'll have some 'my space'.

    newly insane
you made me laugh with that one.
even though it's a serious poem.

there's so much freedom in declaring insanity

Uhm hm, uhm hm. ...and how do you feel about
    the solitary confinement of depression?
So was one of those 'post-it notes' a script for Zanex?
