"Cricketjeff and Sue"

I've entered his contests from time to time,
he hosts them with Sue, his partner in rhyme.
One without the other, like mis-matched shoes,
together, a pair...Cricketjeff and Sue.

Begin line, end line, internal line too,
rhyme, rhyme, rhyme, that is all you have to do.
His series contests are always the best,
they challenge the mind like a placement test.

If you fail to place, don't get discouraged,
Jeff's kind comments will leave you encouraged.
With witty intellect and subtle hints,
he'll point out your flaws, no malice intent.

So, to Cricket-Jeff Green, this I must say,
your "common name" will be famous someday.
I can see it now, your title will chime,
"Cricketjeff and Sue",co-authors in rhyme.

Blame my muse for this write, she did insist...
"If you don't include Sue, I will be pissed!"

Yes, they do well together, don't they? I really enjoyed your piece.

Left a smile on my face and a twinkle in my eye. Not much more I could ask from a poet or the poem.

thanks, and so glad to hear from you and know that you are safe from the storm
  • Its great. Sue was my first favorite on here and someone who has helped me out alot through my maturing as a poet. Jeff although it took me a little while longer to find his works also has been a trmendous help. Both of them are incredable poets and have a wonderful way with words.

As do you. you show that well with this poem. The flow is very well done and reminds me a lot of both Jeff and Sue's work. The rhyme is also well done. You did a good job and its a wonderful tribute to the two of them.
