Farewell

farewell to thee
not quiet well you see
we still have moments to enjoy
those fondest thoughts of thee
thy memories, within my heart
they still shall dwell, and they
shall cheer and comfort thee

though life seems more sweet
nothing is lost that though didst give
though my journey seems endless
thine fondest memories will live for eternity

so farewell to thee
not quiet well you see
we still have moments to enjoy
those fondest thoughts of thee
thy memories, within my heart
they still shall dwell, and they
shall cheer and comfort thee

This is very cleverly written poet. It seems you have some advantage by using the King's English here. That makes the poem very lyrical, almost like a dirge to be sung at a traditional funeral. Sad! I wish you well in the challenge!

      Thank you

I wanted to do something different, something new, and this was what I could come up with, so I thought to surprise my readers just a bit, and not to forget, I like the king's English very well.
