Glory Whores

The sword of truth will prevail
over vile tongues that lash out;
not knowing the true beginning
and not willing to let it end.

Involvement of carefully chosen pawns
in a game that should have never started,
and will never end; not peacefully anyway
tainted fabrications from dawn to cusp

Deceit lies in hearts of fools folly and
disguise led sheep willing to slaughter;
insanity seeps where peace should reign,
compassion long since forgotten

You came as friends, but eyes saw past that,
at first word, all trust was abandoned;
judgment of characters and agendas
were really correct at first glance

Spiteful spirits spewing words of deception;
themselves becoming nothing more
than undignified glory whores.

    Hey there woman, how goes it? Blessed I hope and I hope you're feeling lots better than when you wrote this. (Hope it was imagined.) Write on. One.

    I think this is really beautiful, the words are very deep. However, I think some of the thoughts were incomplete or didnt flow well with the 4 line stanza theme.

    I can relate to this. It reminds me of a saying that I absoulty love..... "going to church doesnt make you any more a Christian than standing in a garage makes you a car".. its about facades... someone posing as something else for their benefit. I like the way you express this concept.

    WOW, and we must be thinking alone the same line for I posted just yesterday a poem on the same matters. Well worded, and a great deep message.

    Third stanza was truly awesome!
    Fourth stanza was GREAT!
    Last stanza was just jawdropping ... but first and second stanzas were right up there too!
    lol!
    okay, I can't choose a favourite piece, but I can say that the more I get to know people the more I like animals
    most people get involved in others lives because they feel they can gain something from it - it's hardly ever just because they feel a connection with the person.
    don't EVER let ANYBODY make you feel unworthy Michelle, no matter how hard they try: you are worth more than they could EVER be my friend

    'The sword of truth will prevail' How true those words are. The truth always comes out in the end, just sometimes it is a long time coming. There is a lot of anger in this poem, a sense of betrayal. It is well written. I like the way it sounds when I read it out loud.

    Whew! Where they at? Who wronged my sister? Way to tell it like it truly is. Let me at 'em! I am so glad you got that off your c hest. It's good to see you back, good to see your spunk. You go baby! Let the "Glory Whores" go about their way, sooner or later they will be the cause of their own demise. Excellent poetry as always!

    I Love You ♥
