Music to my ears

Waters drench the lands.
Winds sweep across the valley.
Music to my ears.
Birds race against the gusting winds, flying to safety.
The lightening strikes and the rain pours.
It hadn't rained lately.
The grounds now lush, the rain lifts up.
The sun refuses to shine.
The wind softly dries the waters from the land,
music to my ears.
I watch as a child skips down the lane, enjoying the puddles in the mud.
A mother frantically tries to catch her.
I smile as it occurs to me how good it was to be young.
A break in the rain, it has grown quiet.
The child runs.
A tree branch moves with the wind.
It is all so deeply silent.
And I'm still wanting more.
