The Black Onyx Of The Night

Missing image
Through the deep velvet black prism,
of the night unaware.
So flies the black onyx,
with wings of despair.
She catches the visions through eyes filmed with blood,
for she feeds upon the human it's her lust.

No one ever sees the black onyx at play,
only feel the waft of her wings as they pass their way.
Lashing with the fangs never missing her prey,
the black onyx whirls in passes through them;
giving their souls a chill that wont go away.

Once taken the body now pale and weak wilts to the ground,
no one ever notices for she makes not a sound.
As she perches herself on top the building and the blood drips free,
a pattern of her statue with the soul she stole on bended knee.

The Black onyx you see must feed

Author notes

credit photobucket for the pic
From within her soul a seed did grow
as a child no one noticed as she went too and fro
Even as a child she felt the need
and as she grew she began to feed

A dark story of the angel of death... well written. I loved the "addendum" in the AN's and really think you should have included it... it's a brilliant set up for the rest of your poem. Well done and best of luck...
