O Ancient of Days

Missing image

O Ancient of Days, my soul's delight,

Creator of stars burning bright;

Blessed by Thee, O Lord, my King,

To Thee my life, an offering.

Heavenly Father, thou dost reign,

From all evil I must refrain.

To Thy courts I do aspire,

To be with Thee, my heart's desire.

O Ancient of Days, O Lord on high,

For You I live, I shalt ne'er deny.

I see Thy face in bright stars above,

Shining down, displaying Thy love.

Whilst Thy world hast forgotten Thee,

Architect of fearful symmetry,

Chaos and order art in Thy hands,

And Thou dost rule as Thy love demands.

This reads like a Psalm of David. It speaks eloquently to the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man. The expression is one of humility, not humiliation. These are often confused in our vain, defensive conceits of self-worth. However, this poem reveals the contentment and devotion of a creature secure in his relationship with his acknowledged Creator.

A beautiful religous write that speaks well for its author. It deserves its recognition for the message that it shares. (Welcome to the Lord of the Dreams)

This is a beautiful prayer...it is reminiscent of an old prayer you might hear being read in a traditional service. The words are very sincere.
