Pop a few pills
Just to feel a high
This awful addiction
I can no longer hide
It’s taken my mind
As well as my soul
I don’t know what to do
I don’t know where to go
The feeling is euphoric
A way to numb my pain
I don’t want to say this
But you’re the one to blame
You hurt me as a child
You never showed me love
I needed an escape
Which is why I chose the drugs.

It's simple, but powerful. I relate to almost every word here and you expressed so much in so few lines. good job -

Ouch!
I was actually skeptical at the first and then the poem began to add momentum. The last two stansas were as in your face as you can get. You actually call your abuser out as your reason and force them to face their actions. Excellent emotion and confrontation in this piece. It seems pill popping has began growing quite rapidly and I am glad to see it represented well.
