Though you made me feel a different way.
I'll get over you some day.
Sometimes people meet for a reason.
And, I didn't mind when you were teasing.
If someone were to ask me how I feel, I would lie.
I know the right thing is to say goodbye.
Never before had I felt completely myself.
And, it hurts to place my heart back onto the shelf.
Some people will continue to despise you and call you zero.
But to me, you will always be my hero.
Author notes
Written on the spur of the moment. It's 1:30 am here and I can't sleep and when I can't sleep my mind starts thinking. The gist of the poem, let's just say sometimes there are people who come into our lives who make us feel completely ourselves, but the circumstances aren't right and you just have to let go. Ugh, I hope I'm not going to start another sappy song writing phase like I did when I first came here, writing the old rock and roll/ pop Beatles and Buddy Holly style tunes. 
I see there are new background options now. Very cool. 
I love the moon pic background. I feel it gave a sentimental feeling to the poem.

Thanks, Desire. I hadn't thought of that Iglesias song when I wrote this. But, I can see where people can make that connection.
This is one of my more sad poems. Saying good bye to a guy I really liked who didn't feel the same way about me. Oh, well. Live and learn, right?

Thanks, Charley. Yeah, I guess you're right. It is good to get feelings out sometimes, especially when it makes people feel better to just get things out. I am doing well in college so far, thanks. No major assignments yet. Just daily journals for religious studies and one assignment in logic so far from the text book. I have a quiz in religious studies next Friday, but I've been studying for it for quite awhile now, so it should be smooth sailing. Hope you're weekend is off to a great start. Take care.

Aw, thanks, Michaela. I'm not really sure if romance was exactly what I was going for, but I suppose the poem could be seen either in a romantic way or a sentimental friendship sort of way. This is why I love to share my poetry. All people can have their own different interpretation and that makes the comments so much more interesting to read.
