Today was a good day...
~
No snow or rain I can't complain
of inequality
some food to eat shoes on my feet
and that's enough for me.
~
The hardest part is people's hearts
they judge by what they say
disparity no charity
society's throw away.
~
I may not be the epitome
of what you call a friend
within your fear you make it clear
it is disgust you send.
~
It may come to pass that the hardest task
for society to repair
is to find that part inside your heart
to compassionately care

you speak clearly to injustice
I pray each day that there will an end to pain and suffering. Then i do what i can to help ,giving money and food to the food bank, i also donate my art work to raise money for shelters. If Every one would give just five dollar a month it would be enough to feed the hungry as you said earlier simple food and water brings comfort and gives hope.
Your poetic voice speaks clearly to the sin of
hunger in the world. A nation that wastes and consumes so much is a travesty.
Light and love
Robert

Welcome back Robert
what a compassionate man you are to donate your art work
to raise money and food for the food back
big Moony hug for you Mr.
as you say, it takes so little to make someone smile
If you cannot give money
donate to your local food bank
by someone a meal today
smile at people on the street
acknowledge them as human
love and light to you Robert

Dear Moony,
OK, this has REALLY done it!! You've triggered my Muse off into writing a poem on destitution. Watch this space!
Meantime, I applaud your outspoken message, your compassionate heart which engenders it nd the format of the resulting poem.
With love nd hugs, XXX Hugh.

HUGH I HAVE JUST READ DESTITUTE
AMAZING POEM...and I left you a comment already
I hope you will let me print it off and show it to my friend.
I am sure it would make him feel good to know that people really do care about the poor.
Thankyou for writing this Hugh, I hope many poets here will be inspired to write on this subject. I have already gotten emails with links of several other poems on Poverty.
As for my video...please bare with me on that one
I am just learning the ropes of video making .
But soon I hope to master it completely.

Again, you show such compassion and depth of understanding. I have done a good deal of work with homeless people, and really, they are not much different than us. In fact, they used to BE us, ya know. And really, they DO appreciate an understanding heart.
-
-
EXACTLY...THEY USED TO BE US!
I think we are going to be seeing a lot more homeless people and very soon. The way the economy is playing out, it does not look good. So, methinks people better start understanding Poverty and do it soon cause the loss of your job and mine, could be around the next bend...and we could be the ones asking for spare change in order to eat.
thankyou ten thousand cicadas
you SO get it!

Evening Jin
I think people are actually afraid of the homeless
I have actually heard people say things like
I might catch something
they might rob me
gosh they are just people like you and I trying to survive
can you imagine having to swallow your pride and beg on the street?
It is not something people look forward to.
I think I simply have the kind of heart that everyone should have and I don't always understand why people don't feel the same way I do...I know I am weird Jin

Welcome poppa
oh yes, thankyou for letting me know
I would love to read your poem
it is tragic that people are forced to live like this
in my own town there are many homeless
I know them all by name
each with their own sad story
so nice to meet you poppa
hugs Moony -
-
wow do you actually work with them or do you just stop and talk and spend time with them ? Think you knowing their names demonstrates the quality of person and the depth of heart you possess...
the pleasure was all mine

-
-
I have worked with the homeless in the past
put these days I stop and talk to them
and if I choose to give them money for food
My only hope is that the great spirit will show me some compassion if I am ever homeless
there but for the grace of God go I
that is how I see it, poppa
I cannot imagine having to live on the street
stores will not let you use the washrooms even
and many of the people I talk to
will not go to the shelter
they cannot sleep there because others steel things
or they fear lice and bedbugs
and sometimes it is because of mental disorders they do not wish to go there. paranoia -
-
I think the great spirit will ensure you are never homeless, as you have already given more then many ever do...

-
-
well if I am
I hope I come across
a compassionate person
such as yourself poppa

Oh, Moony, just got here at this late hour,
and saw your series.
Ah, you speak for the silenced,
for those who have ceased to exist
in the eyes and cold hearts
of those who have so much
and don't wish to share.
Bravo, dear moon!
