That's when they come out
all herky-jerky shadows
out to play
they've been waitin' all day
just to get here
a trampoline across your ceiling
they like for you to know
that they're here with you
and they dance just for you
In the dark they're black and white
they love taking you to the past
smilin' at tears
makes'em happy
they're old songs
faces and smiles
happy places that leave you cold
'bout midnight it always begins
ghosts behind trees
peakin' and grabbing at you
they're here to stay
and they're not sending roses
well...it's 'bout midnight now
the ballet soon to begin
a pirouette of thought
the ceiling is about to come alive
and the show is just for you

Great shadow show, and evocative of the loneliness of the midnight hours when the mistakes replay and can't be avoided. Well done!

Creatively fun!
I have never seen anyone tackle this before. Your ceiling shadow play is unique in concept and form. I wish you the best of luck in this.

excellent! i really loved this poem. bravo!

Interesting line in your author notes, but it brings out vivid imagery. Like the shadows on the ceiling are putting on a little broadway show type thing
. The speech in the poem was really natural and fluid, and I liked it =]
GREAT job
diggin it majorly

Yes, I've looked up around midnight...some shows are better than others...your images are different to mine, but I'm sure the feelings are the same

All the best
