Today they say the Summer came to die
A final flood of soft September sun
The wisps of clouds that chased across the sky
Are harbingers of Autumn just begun
Tomorrow will be cold and grey, they say
October will walk in in winter coat
The final end to Summer's briefest stay
These last few days a parenthetic note
There will be days of golden Autumn light
When new bronzed leaves will shine on every tree
With glorious mists that linger from the night
And apple pie, the taste of poetry
Too soon we'll see the silver winter's reign
Then spring can dawn and cricket come again!

I love the sonnet format, its so structured and flowing all in one. I also really enjoyed the thought of poetry tasting like apple pie! ^^

Hah! A wonderful personal ending to a brilliant little write. Enjoyed the vivid imagery very much! Great seasonal piece!
