You gave me thunder without sad rains,
claps of cheer even when I was perturbed and flippant;
taught me how to differentiate affable from arrant,
and those times I thought you had left me for not--
there you were in glowing smile to cushion my fall.
Your bravura quip and ethereal knowledge is indelible.
I just wanted you to know that if I am as comely as you
at seventy-six, if my handiwork is as appealing, as beauteous...
Watch out world because Charlesetta's child, her eldest daughter
will trumpet forth her inherited gifts in joyous celebration.

Grab Bag Prompt - "A Conversation with your Mother"
These words are far less than my Mother deserves. I will however share this poem with her tomorrow. She is truly my lighthouse! Thank you for this prompt, I surely need to say all this and more to my mother.

I cannot imagine the love your mother
must carry for you in her heart. This
is the most lovely tribute and written
with so much beauty and respect. I am
very happy my prompt stirred such a
heartfelt poem. Thank you, Renee, for
another piece of poetry I will remember.

How beautiful, I love this from start to finish, we all need to be mindful of who and what has made us as awesome as we are. Your mother sounds amazing indeed. I need to thank my mother for all her efforts and tears. Well done.
