Heartbreak holds me back

Tonight I sit pondering on my journey's lonely touch,
if only I could turn back time I would have changed so much,
so sleep deprived from worry, as I lay here alone,
maybe my emptiness is, I'm still searching for some-where to call home.

I feel I have given to life all I can,
but clearly there is more then simplicity of this land,
each obstacle I jump over and learn another lesson,
something greater then me brings me back to the dream of heaven.

I often say to people close to me, don't give up on you,
maybe I need to take my own advice and listen to me too,
so much life experience in such a short time here,
now all I seem to face is what holds me back in fear.

Scared to love, open up my soul to another,
as I seem to pass the test of all in life, except to become ones lover,
it would be like stepping out of my comfort zone where pain cannot hurt,
but to share your life with heart break throws me into the ends of this earth.

    very touching.. knowing you i could very much feel what you have said in this piece... i particularly liked the lines

    and I loved the last stanza..
    This is such a refined poem... worth a million bucks..
    You are such an awesom poetess..
