wage war with white sand
scattering the minute missiles
while bending the quiet giants.
Storm surges stir paradise
into a rough ravaged morass.
Respite forgotten
while decimation marches.
The eye of destruction
is never in the beholder's
vision.
Scattered beauty struggles
to rise on battered legs
yet sunrise brings a
faltering smile's promise.
Author notes
With great beauty comes uncertainty...The Bahamas while beautiful are also so very delicate..This is about the delicate balance that comes with a price...hurricanes can be devastating..I hope this is still within the parameters of the contest...my muse has been off...if it doesn't meet your qualifications I am truly sorry..it has been a great honor competing against all of you..Errant Panther...you have gathered a wonderfully talented bunch of writers that I have been doubly blessed to compete against...thank you...
so here is my attempt...
blessings to all

very deep imagery to show the trouble that can come to paradise, this time in the form of the awesome forces of nature itself. these devasting hurricanes are quite common among the americas and surrounding isles.

Well, I dunno if it meets the qualifications of the contest, but I think it's a beautiful piece that demonstrates exceptional imagery. I love the last stanza. Well done!
