As each beat of my heart
Echoes the freedom of the surf.
The open sea,
Slave to no man,
Pushes her limbs
Where she sees fit –
Toppling children and sandcastles,
Diverting the swimmers
Wherever she wants,
While I woefully watch,
Slave to my body,
Longing to lose myself
To the sand and the surf
And to be master no more.
For what is it to be master of a prison,
When I could be a plaything of Nature?
What did you think?

Welcome To Allpoetry
Hello dmusicat,
I must say this was really well done. I love how it flows so well together.. The imagery was just so vivid and the story line was amazing.. I love how there was so much emotion as well.. You did such a wonderful job, I'm sure that many here on Allpoetry will love this as much as me.. Thank you very much for sharing this with us here.. I hope to read much more from you in the near future..

Thanks!
Thanks Angelflower! I really appreciate your comment! I was really upset that day - stuck on a beautiful beach, but couldn't swim - with a situation like that, the only thing a poet can do is write, right? Thanks again! ^_^
