Author notes
Nothing much.
Dedicated to the main man in my life.
He is called Elliot.
My horse.
And he is beautiful.
He's not been well for a long time. But he's starting to get better now.
Vid is of him having a little joyful roll and buck in the round pen when he was allowed out for a little bit. He's now looking a lot better - starting to get some muscle. and his mane and tail have grown a little!
Please tell me what you think

actually i think he's beautiful and didn't know there was anything wrong with him from the video... but then i've never really been around horses, so i guess i wouldn't know.
nice, short piece.

horses are the most stunning creatures ever in existence. It's amazing, they can be so precarious and so fragile but their strength is so empowering for the rider and the horse. There is nothing like feeling the wind in your hair. I'm so happy Elliot is better...there's nothing more saddening than a sad horse. Just the downcast beauty, it's heart breaking. But he's better, and that is nice

People say dogs are nice and stuff but you can form better bonds with horses. Sorry, I just want to blub about horses
They're the reason I'm planning on being a vet
this is a sweet story...I remember the book when I was young about a horse that the girl didn't like, called skinny rabbit, but then she loved him. Can't remember the name.
I'm glad he's better, and hopefully you with him.

gah i've always wanted to ride a horse, like ride one properly.
but that takes year, and yeah, it does look so lovely.
i'm glad you've found something good for yourself!

Men (Horses) who have had the heck kicked out of them and then are brought back to health by a woman's love
make the best lifetime companions...loved the video of him in the pen rolling around
nicely done Jess, as always....

This is sweet and there is so much more here than what meets the eye. Yes, that is what love is - it makes us all beautiful, beautiful swans. Loved the star reference here... indeed.

Aww I loved this! And the video is just precious! I'm glad to hear that he's getting better, I simply adore horses!
Wonderful write!
Take care

Excellent homage here. I REALLY love the star metaphor.
Glad to hear he is doing well. He reminds me of an appoloosa I had for a time.
Well done.

He's gorgeous (even his name is beautiful, I adore the name Elliot.) Glad to hear your boy is much better!
I used to take riding lessons but I couldn't continue because my parents couldn't afford it
I miss riding.
This was such a sweet, satisfying piece. It was so affectionate. All poems I've read directed to animals have all been so cheesy but this was so fresh and soulful.

Arw thanks hunni. That means a lot to me.
He won prettiest face at a show the other day.. he is really cute. When i first saw him i thought he was really ugly. But now i think he's stunning.
You should get back into it.. there's always ways. Or when you're older. My horses have saved my life. 100%. No doubt about it.
Shrinks and being hospitalised did nothing for me. But i had to eat or i couldn't care for my boys. And so i do.
xxxxxx Much love.
