Just
For a few moments
You are there
For her to share;
Some ghostly image of you,
Some wanted need
Of hers
To see you again;
Just in the place
She always looks
And waits,
The room dim lit
As if she thought
The light
Too bright for you
And your baby eyes,
Your fragile sight.
You say nothing,
Not even a baby’s cry,
No need to
Where you are now,
But she’ll not know,
For her
You are there
Once more,
To see,
To smell
And in her mind’s fine eye
To hold;
Hoping
That you are there,
And did not die.
