faultless

The tiny beating heart within her womb
the rest of sands on an eternal shore.
Love that defies stony walls of the tomb

to find life among the dead, seeds abloom
unnumbered, countless exceeding and more.
The tiny beating heart within her womb

dawn of new breath sunrise glorious plume
wishes of hearts freely given a spirit adored
love that defies stony walls of the tomb.

Faulted and faultless by existence consumed
and breath upon the embers bright flame restored.
The tiny beating heart within her womb

spirit of freedom lost, forgiveness assumed
bold life a golden chalice tipped to pour
love that defies stony walls of the tomb.

Fabric of time upon a celestial loom
Sun's fading light by prayers endured.
The tiny beating heart within her womb
love that defies stony walls of the tomb.

Wonderful vilannelle, PK - you really know how to write this poetry form (something I still wish to learn or master, lol). This is indeed what love is...it defies all walls. Beautiful.

A love everlasting is always beautiful, and your form
is perfect, the name alludes me but I've read and tried this form before, and it's not as easy as it looks. Excellent job, hon.

  • This is such a good write I was left breathless after reading it. So nicely penned, what more can I say.

O you once said that rhymed poetry didn't work for you, where you got that idea I have no clue. Here you show that when well done, rhymed poetry is a joy to read, specially when reading it out loud.
Very nicely done with refrains (yes, I know I keep talking about refrains), flow and imageries.
