Satiated skies release
Winter’s bounty.
A freshly fallen blanket
brings hush to the woods.
Only giggles of a fair lady,
cheeks cherry from
chill of the frosty afternoon,
yesterday’s horse-drawn sleigh.
Swish of tails cutting the air,
whoosh of blades etching the flurry
takes them safely home
to warmth of fire.

Glorious!
This is so beautiful & just reading it invoked a delicious chill of delight. It sounds like so much fun & is timeless. Could have been last winter... or over a hundred years ago.

As beautiful as the picture. I think Robert Frost would be proud. I enjoyed this piece. I think I will return to read again in the winter.

Very nicely done. Very kinkade-esque. I think your view of a sleigh ride fits the picture very well.
Great job.

Ah, so wonderfully and magically nostalgic these words, and prove a perfect compliment to the painting by the erstwhile Thomas Kinkade... loved it... bravo.. bravo..

An abundance of imagery within this well-written composition---Soothing and tranquil and your words breathe life into the picture.
