A gift from the lands of Ireland.

Destiny bleeds strong

in the rivers

of our lives.

Unspoken bondage

amidst the light of day.

Pulsing within our hearts

ancient memories

of suffering ballads play...

seize freedom do not drown

in streams of pity today.

Fill your lungs with might.

Live with righteous courage.

Raise high the tall masts

of your bold life.

Hear the mothers of

your homeland cry

loud labor pains

of freedom and re-birth.

Destiny bleeds strong

in the rivers of our lives.

Contest prompt: the words and song.

A gift from the lands of Ireland is this poem to
America right now...actually all of us worldwide, as our markets
and labor is deeply scarred by the greed and corruption
of our hard earned dollars.

May we not EVER forget the song of freedom
that bleeds within our souls!

Thankyou ..i really needed this prompt tonight!
This gave me much courage and hope!

    Beautiful Sentiments, Poet!!!

Your heart-and-soul really sing out for the entire world to hear the truth of our Motherland's sufferings, while encouraging growth and renewal of the spirit in peace and love. "A Gift From the Lands of Ireland" is truly a superb masterpiece, and worthy of much more than gold. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful poem with us, I'm wishing the best of luck to you in all you do. Take care & thanks again!!! Peace Always, Cyn

Wonderful and musical! I especially like the refrain of your first and last lines: Destiny bleeds strong in the rivers of our lives. Another way of saying that genetic memories are spirit-deep, and not just physical. The picture and background color support the words beautifully. I really enjoyed this.

"Another way of saying that genetic memories are spirit-deep, and not just physical."...whoa! I love that line right there; what a great phrase ("gentic memories"...hmmm).

    The Heart Bleeds For Freedom

I like this poem - it reminds me of my grandmother land "Croatia" - she is finally free after centuries of occupying forces ruling over her from neighboring countries - for 600 years they sang a song of freedom - "Croatia has not yet fallen while we are alive" - now they sing freely their national anthem "Beautiful Our Homeland" ---- Bless God - Joe ---------- zdravlje - (good health)
