The months have ticked by slowly,
But it seems like yesterday that we said goodbye.
Today is in remeberance of you,
And, as always, I'm thinking of you.
Your smiles haunt me so,
And I cannot even bear to think of when it began and when it ended.
There's so much more that I long to say...
But distance limits me,
And your blind ignorance wounds me, too.
No matter what, I'll still love you,
No matter if it's a taboo, no matter if you refuse to listen.
Inadvertantly, you stole my heart
On that humid summer night so long ago.
It's a shame you won't hear me;
There are signs that link us, factors that are hard to ignore,
And you dare not deny, either.
I have never lied to you,
Never really wronged you,
And never asked anything of you...
Except just to listen.
Maybe if you were aware of what is fated,
Maybe if you didn't deny the truth,
The night will fair you well.
My words are endless, and I could never begin to tell you all I know
Of what lies ahead in life; you'd just think me a fool, only assuming things
Based on my past.
Please listen... Don't turn away anymore.
Embrace me and the truth I bear:
You're all that ever really mattered to me.

I love that this wasn't in a letter format. I love reading letters in the form of poems.. it almost tends to give them more strength, lets you know how it would be read by the author.
I truly like this poem, it flows well and has such a sad story to tell.
I wish you all the luck in the world!

Hmm.
This is a very interesting piece.
I wish it was more in a letter format, maybe?
I don't know. I'm just not certain on the format :/
But that's just me
Good luck in the contest ♥
