To Broken Bambi

"My name's Hollie," she said.
"There's nothing special about me;
I am easily forgotten."

"Just 13, and shy around people I do not know;
people I know seem to wish I was shy around them.
I can sometimes be very hyper and random -"

"I love to sing but I'm not very good at it;" (But my dear, you
      should keep practicing, or sing as if no one is there -
      let your voice ring out in freedom your spirit, your muse,
      the person cocooned within you...)
"I think drawing is fun, but I'm not good at it." (I love to paint
      in watercolor; not that it's very well done, but it's relaxing
      and fun, and that in itself is good.)
"Dance is fun, especailly when we go hyper on midget gems."
      (Well then go for it!)
"Drama would be okay, if I wasn't so shy around my new class -
I have anxiety attacks, and get scared of all loud noises now and a lot of people I dont know, but I still like to make new friends..."

My darling Broken Bambi,
I have suffered for years with anxiety disorder and panic disorder; it's no fun at all and you cannot conquer it by yourself.  You need a support group, and I highly recommend from my own experience try working with a therapist, and go to see a doctor about what they can do to relieve some of this anxiety...
It was only in pain and torment that I discovered my artistic talents: watercoloring, poetry, and knitting.  Singing, drawing, dance and theatre are no different - they are a form of therapy; a way your true self comes out to express your hidden depths and character. Sing as if no one were listening, dance as if no one were watching, and live...live.

    I initially thought this was a character sketch.
    The climax, line 14 is the jumping off point for potential here.
    Carl Jung theorized that the repressed part of the self, the shadow, is the best possible source for creative energy. To accept the repressed is to control and utilize it for positive ends, as opposed to having repression develop into a stress fountain.
    Line 2 is the most alarming point in the work, because the assumption made is one which results in the statement made in line 3. The idea that one is easily forgotten requires subconscious connection between the conscious mind and the necessarily forgotten shadow. Age is the next subject covered, followed by her reactions to people and theirs to her. Disturbingly, the implications of what amounts to be unpopularity remain intact.
    At this point in the work, love comes into play. Love beside defeat beside love beside a lack of talent beside love beside something less than love.

    The advice comes at a very vulnerable spot here. The subconscious mind, possibly, may be voiced in parenthesis.

    The inner workings of an individual and her role model are in top form. Good advice too.
