- soulless
eyes that doubt through blinding tears
feathers strewn in my pale hands
emaciated from the days of sin
years count in the etchings of tomorrow
she fingered the words strung together
the pearls of grey eyes cast in fervor's rent
tiptoe past the silent corpse
a blank pallet in open beak
left her silent kiss on the grave
whispers echo against glass walls
murky shadows vast in the sky
frozen in flight over Siberia,
the towelette was moist and dry
between my barren, sterile teeth
liberating; cascading
the dents foaming on the surface
memory arises from the north,
she stumbles across the clouds
remnants of a dead bird
departing from earth.

Breathtaking, absolutely asstounding. The imagery, the choice of words... I'm wordless. This has to be one of the best poems I have read in a very long time. Thank you for entering my contest, I really liked this peice. The picture at the top helps as well.

Outstanding wording, emotion and images in this. I honestly find it hard to believe this has not taken some Golds

Love the wording - the deep, dark cry of the soul.
Excellent!

wow. dark.
each word hits you like one of those cartoon scenes, where the anvil falls out of the sky.
great work. -
You have such an amazing gift for depth, especially to weave such abstract and thought provoking imagery...

.. that opening was just so poignant, setting the stage for the image itself ..
A beautiful sadness described to soar, beyond what shell remains. Nicely done!
