In Love

I fell in love with a girl I met a year ago
Love grabbed me and started to grow

Her lips, her smile
I know we are meant to walk down the aisle

Her look, her face
Makes me feel like I’m in a heavenly place

Her hands, her feet
Sexy legs no woman can beat

Her eyes, her hair
I can’t help to stare

Her intelligence, her brain
Loveness is driving me insane

Her body, her butt
Younger guys say “WHAT?”

Love and happiness has finally found its way
Tomorrow will be my 82nd birthday

Author notes

This is not about some old fart cheating on his wife just to let everyone know. My pastor said something about an older man falling in love so.........Love knows no age limit! And I don't know if "loveness" is even a word but who is the writer here? ME(lol)
God bless

i love it! absolutely love it! my favorite part was:

    Her body, her butt
    Younger guys say “WHAT?”

That made me smile, I literally heard lil john saying what in my head, and for that to be in a poem is awesome! lol

at first, i thought this was going to be a mushy gushy love poem that was going to depress me seeing how im dealing with a break up with a man ive been with for over a year, but it actually made me laugh a little. thanks a lot man!

P.S. if you havent already, dont forget to fill out the form from the contest page and put it on my author's page

I like that piece of work
Not everyone can write the way you write
    very nice
    and thumbs way up

but don't forget to check on some of my poems. Any which one that make you happy. Since it is mother's day, I would recomend you to read unwanted wishes. Other than that, I think trading places is a masterpiece. It has to do of how are it can be if you were to wear someone else's shooes. It is really deep. If you have ever been hurt by someone you deeply love, this poem is for you. By the way, I have a lot of poems. The more you read them, the more you will understand how much creativity I try to bring to poetry. May peace be with you and enjoy .

Hey, if Lewis Carrol could create his own words (i.e. "The Jabberwocky"), then why can't you? When I read it, I thought it was just a typo and that you meant "loveliness"...and then I read your author's comments of course. I say, why not? But I'm rambling...so, I think you really got your point across...you've really got it bad for this person. The twist at the end that revealed that the subject was a senior citizen was delightful. It brought the hugest smile to my face. I hope to be that frisky when I'm 80! I really enjoyed reading this. Take care! ~HD

Ohh, this is so sweet. I like the word "loveness", poetic license my friend! The last line is great, it took a potentially cliche topic and gave it a unique twist. Love comes in all sizes, colors, and ages. Great write, God bless.

Cute.... but a very gross picture at the end. Some old wrinkly guy sitting a part bench trying to stare up a 15 year olds skirt. lol Keep dreaming in ink.

This was a great write and love can happen at anytime to anyone. You have a good rhyme scheme but I think you meant to say "aisle" instead of "isle". Nice job. Have fun. Steve

Awesome write bro. I thought this was really cool. My grandfather would always show us pictures and say that he was so inlove with his wife. She passed away a couple years ago... and it's hard when you lose someone you've been inlove with for so long. Aight went on a tangent... but this poem was awesome. You wrote it very well.
God Bless you and your writes,
    Jenna

I like this poem but i agree with sadelmann, I wasnt sure about the rhyme scheme, but thats just me. The subject of the poem is unusual and its refreshing to read a new perspective

Sure - lust knows no age, either...scandalous...lol. I really liked the idea. i was a bit distracted by the lack of symmetry in the couplets - probably just me.
