The devil came to me the other day.
I knew his desire was to entice me away.
He held a beautiful package under his arms.
His words were sweet and full of charms.
I should have ran quickly away
And not listened to his words that day.
Soon he had me tight in his grip
And he took me for a delightful trip.
I felt so good, so right. I had no fear.
I ignored God s spirit whispering in my ear.
Then, it all came crashing down.
I was afraid I lost my eternal crown.
I went to the Lord crying on my knees.
"Lord, I have done some detestable deeds."
I feared greatly his anger and wrath,
For I had traveled such a horrible path.
Instead, I saw a smile on his face
As he said, "You re covered by my Grace."
He reached out his arms and held me tight.
I just cried as he took away all my fright.

that is cool, i really like it it goes right along with what God does, i mean yes sometimes there will be consequences but God covers the "detestable deeds" this is really good.

Thank you very much for telling me about this poem. I have come to understand that God is forgiving and generous over the years. I grew up with such a constant fear of displeasing him, and the imminent threat of Armageddon, but now I realize that he loves me for who I am, and that I don't have to be afraid anymore, so I guess I have discovered his grace as well.
