My Dad

My Dad

As I look back over the years,
And remember the joy and tears,
There is one steady, stable factor I see:
A man to lead and guide me,

A man who was always there,
A man who had real love and care,
A man who made us a close family,
A man who taught values and integrity,

A man who sacrificed his time,
A man who was firm, yet gentle and kind,
A man who saw us through good and bad,
A man whom I'm proud to call my dad.

    This is a lovely poem to honor your dad for Father's Day. I bet your dad really, really is proud of you AND this poem. Rhymes and flows well too.

    I like this poem and I wish i could say the same about mine but I won't go into that.I loved the flow and the rhyme scheme and just in general how the poem was written it was really good! Great job and thanks for sharing!

    i just finished writing a poem for my dad! and its almost the same, read it and comment!
    i loved this poem, it really portrays the profound feelings you have for your dad which is awesome. I wish my brother was more like us...

    But unfortually some of my friends can't say the same. It hurts because they are hurting so much. But they've learned to deal with it. This is awesome. Loves!
