The Cat and the Dime

There’s a funny rhyme
About a cat who had a dime.
It seems he committed a crime,
This cat with the dime.
Now he’s doing his time
For stealing a dime.
Poor cat failed to climb
When he stole the dime.
He fell on his behind
Clinching that dime.

Now he’s singing a new rhyme
Do not steal a dime.
Never commit a crime,
If you want a dime.
You will do your time
Should you steal a dime.
If you find a tree to climb
When you’ve stolen a dime
You’ll hurt you little behind
Falling and clinching a dime.

Author notes

Just a silly rhyme with an obvious point

Awwww cute! I like funny little piece that have a moral to tell....especially for kids, its important to keep them entertained when trying to teach them something, otherwise it goes in one ear and straight out the other!!

I shall let my daugther read this one! Im sure she will like it too. She has been a member for a couple of weeks now, and is enjoying reading poetry.

This is rather cute - amazing that you got every word to rhyme with "dime" - wonder if you could have worked the words "lime" and "chime" and "mime" in there somewhere? (LOL).

    Best wishes,
