A Prayer for a New Baby

Welcome to the world little one.
Your life has only just begun.
May you find life wonderful and fun.

May you be surrounded with joy and love
And know what a gift you are from above.
May you be filled with life and the wonder thereof.

May you grow healthy and strong.
May all of your days be long
And filled with a cheery song.

May you know wisdom and truth.
And never loose the innocence of youth.
May you only produce good fruit.

May you always be happy and serene.
May you one day know the unseen.
And the joy of being made clean.

May God show you the power of his love.
May you receive grace from above.
Upon you may the Spirit descend as a dove.

Author notes

It's simple but it's for a baby.

Beautifully written piece to honor Seraph's new cuz. Wish I could have done as well myself, but am glad to read those of others. Truly a wonderful way you put the prayer for him. Rose

    Very nice;

    A critical review is invited

only critique I would have to improve the quality is to try and replace some of the rhyme so that the form doesn't look forced.

    This is darling, otherwise
