Those were my favorite words. In some odd way, reading those lines made me proud of who I am, and appreciative of what I have. huh, go figure.

Yes, Sir...I agree with all you've said here...some people don't know how to get past the 'take' part of 'give & take'...I figured out years ago ~ THAT is how it should be...it is 'SHARE'...My two brothers don't really 'know' me...although they think they DO...in some ways, they're locked into the Past...& I am so much more than what used to be...& I don't just write poetry...I AM A POET...semantics, yes...but the distinction is a significant one...but those who truly love me & are interested to REALLY knowing me have made the effort to dig a little deeper...I am an open book, yes ~ but there is an index, a bibliography, end notations, etc.!!! & So much has not yet been written...thanks for your thoughtful remarks, Eddy...I like a Poet that makes ME think, as well!!! I appreciate your Time, Sir...take care of you...& PUH~leeease, KEEP WRITING!!! I am enjoying your works...Hope to have more Time soon to further peruse...

Yep that's why I said "learn" for what we see is often not what is really there. There are livelong friends who still don't really know me. Not because I haven't revealed myself,
but probably because they just don't care, too wrapped in themselves and my ability to make them feel good. Sometimes even friendship isn't a full back and forth flow like it should be.... -

A cowboy or an Indian? hehehe...I disagree about the statement 'gross~looking', though...I don't have a clue what you look like...but I hear your words...& know you have a Grand Heart...that, my Friend, makes you beautiful in my eyes...SO THERE!!! Impeccable logic, ain't it?!? hehehe Thanks for singing me showtunes, my Friend!!! & ya know what? I used to like ol' Omar ...until I read that he told Babs FOR REAL that she 'wasn't a woman at all'...obnoxious jerk!!! I disagree vehemently...anyone with a voice like that is more than just a woman...she's angelic!!! He definitely angered my ol' Poet's Heart with that 'machismo' B.S. ~ you can very much be 'macho' & A MAN without being rude or crude or mean to women & children!!! Hell, he might as well have kicked a dog in my eyes!!! Oh well...

Talking about "discoveries to be made in your eyes", I'm about three verses short of a poem about a painter who is losing his sight.
I'm also blind in one eye. Cowboys and indians when I was a kid! Getting gross looking as I "mature".
But the poem is neat, easy to read, and understand.All except the 'who' part.

There are far too many labels & distinctions designed to pigeonhole us...I refuse...someone once congratulated me for 'thinking outside the box'...I replied, 'WHAT box?!?'
