Feeling Low

When I was feeling low
And had nowhere to go
God sent me a friend.
The friend helped for a while
He even made me laugh and smile
But
My friend could not always be there
Even though I knew how much he cared.

When I was feeling low
And had nowhere to go
God sent me a counselor.
The counselor helped me to talk about my past
He was very helpful but it didn’t last
For
He could help me see what was inside
But could not heal but only help me not to hide.

When I was feeling low
And had nowhere to go
God sent me my parents
Who made me feel loved and unique
Not a weird awkward freak.
Yet
There were some secrets I could not tell
Out of fear they may get angry and yell.

When I was feeling low
And had nowhere to go
God sent me himself.
He promised He would always be there
I knew he would always care
And
With him I could share all my secrets
And know He would forgive and forget.

This is a great poem of encouragement and courage itself. Good job on this. Not being terribly religous myself I really don't know whatelse to say.

wow this is immensly encouraging even to nonchristians. It is a ctually a huge testament that pushes one towards God. I think I will pray tonight and tell God all MY secrets, and see what happens

Though I am not Jewish, I know that this will resonate with them too. God is with us, even when we don't feel it.
I like this form, it works very nicely with the content. This contest is not about winning or losing, but about helping, so I think you have won already.

Thanks. I feel good when a person who does not consider themself a Christian finds something in one of my Christian poems.

Wow....I can't usually relate to spiritual poems because I am not myself religious so I tend to shy away from them. But this one was great! It was powerful and dynamic and made me very happy for you, that you found a way to better you're life and feel better! Great job and good luck!
