  • poetrandy : WOW -- what a great background and history! on November 17
You are almost exactly the age my father would be if he were still alive! He was in the US Marine Corps in WWII and was sent to Guadacanal for that horrible battle! You two were half the world away, both fighting in the worst of situations, but both fighting for Freedom! I'm very proud to meet you and read your fine poetry!
  • shepherd23 : The Doorway in the contest on July 21
The Doorway in the contest is located in the Castillio de San Marcos in St. Augustine, Florida, USA - the oldest city on our continent (just in case you get a chance to visit )

I don't put myself down..well atleast no anymore..I'm an A+ student..its just the only time i feel kind of slow is on allpoetry..i know what i am capable of doing..and i try my best to take critique but some people just don't have any respect..i know how to take critique..it's the way i'm approached that gets to me..thank you anyhow =)
  • Norman Crabtree : I am alive. on October 8, 2007
ive just come back from a really hectic part in my life with school and that, and just getting back into poetry.

it was just a couple of minutes ago i logged back and another user pointed out that so called 'tribute' page. I am just shocked, i dont know anyone on this site in the flesh and rarely 'correspond' with anyone outside of the site. The whole thing is fabricated and completly false even making up quotes. i'm gonna go round and apologise and notify anyone affected by this and then im gonna notify the site.

Michael, you blew me away with that poem in my contest, and words cannot convey what kind of mixed emotions of shock guilt and anger i am feeling. I am sorry for anything and everything these people put you thru.

  • Alive and Kicking : Norman's Homage Page on July 8, 2007
    This Is a message.

You were a highly placed poet on one of Norman Crabtree’s Contests.

This is to inform you of the tribute page that has been set up in his honour, it will hopefully be a celebration of his work, and will not focus on the negative aspects.

We would be grateful if you pass by, or give us your memories.

Any information can be obtained from us

Any tribute work would be gratefully received and cross referenced.

    Thank you Bretheren.

    dream girl

Here in Australia the name 'brumby' is given to a wild horse usually descended from run-away stock. The name derives from the aboriginal word 'booramby'

Evidence exists of it being misspelled as 'bromby'or 'brumbie; and sometimes used as an adjective: 'they were a brumbie lot of rotters'.

Sometimes called a 'warrigal' the aboriginal name for anything wild 'dog', 'horse', or another aboriginal.

Often mispelt 'warragle' and also used as an adjective as in this bush ballad:

I'm a warragle fellow that long hath dwelt
in the wild interior, nor hath felt,
nor heard, nor seen the pleasures of town.

My best wishes to you as you continue your studies.

    Shenton.

    Hello,
Thank you for the comment on my poem.
I hope you're enjoying here at Allpoetry.
You're lucky to have one of all three colored trophies.
Since I'm studying about Australia and the Brumbies are found there, I want to know a little about them.
    If you can't tell,it's alright.

    Best Of Luck!
    GOD BLESS
    Take Care,
    Seher

    Hello Shenton,
So pleased to see you here on Allpoetry, Welcome to another 'aussie' to swell our ranks on here. II wasn't born here either - West Midlands born) Lived in Brisbane since 1973.
I shall look out for more of your poetry. I'm assuming by your introduction up there that you speak fluent Italian - a beautiful language unfortunately I don't understand a word
'I'm taking the garbage out' would sound wonderful to me.
Once again Welcome to Allpoetry and Oldpoety (my 2nd home) and I truly hope you enjoy your time spent here.
