K-Dense on November 12The first ability of a great writer is that they never question their ability or compare themselves to other writers.
Whenever you can, go to Phoenix and watch, learn, GET INSPIRED. You will grow and evolve as a writer/performer, I promise you.
In the mean time, research like hell. Conduct Google and YouTube searches on slam poets and slam poetry. read as much poetry as possible. Develope your own style. Learn from others.
I recommend starting by goign to www.podslam.org.

K-Dense on November 10Where in Arizona do you live? Phoenix is looking for someone to send to the Individual World Poetry Slam in Charlotte, NC.

K-Dense on March 31, 2007I got a few short ones. Guy's gotta keep what a fellow poet I know calls his "short game" up. Most of the are haiku, but my short piece "Snapshot" was actually published by a poetry/art magazine here in Orlando.
Nevertheless, yeah I'm kinda proud of the new one.

MrStoryTeller on March 20, 2006Hey there darlin',
I recognized ya from awhile back, thanks for finding me again and the sweet comments. All this stuff I've been writing within the last two months has been completely different from the stuff I've been writing for the last several years. I've fallen in love with Beat poetry and enjoy experimenting with it and free verse. Anyway, thanks again,

Enchanted Butterfly on February 28, 2006Hi hi honey baby cakes. (Yes, that's your new name, at least for now!)
Just wanted to tell you thank you for your wonderful comments on my poetry, and you should go and read more and comment more, cuz you know me, I may come over and de-bob you. *evil laugh*
Love you hon, and enjoy the applauses. Wanna join up with me in my next contest? It's not going to be like the one I told you about, I got a better idea. So yeah, hit me up on messenger or whatever, kay? Let me know. Love you Ashley. -
stormigrl on September 27, 2005I want to first thank you on commenting on my poem "Daddy I haven't forgotten you". It's very much appreciated. I think this has made me a better poet. I use to be bitter with my writes after my father died, possibly because I was furious about his death. Mostly because of the security guard who wouldn't let me in the hospital up to see my father (who had already passed at that time). I got a call at 2 am and I had to travel by around 3am by my husband into an hours drive in. The security officer was awful, but I'm thrilled that the head nurse got this guy fired. For being ignorant to me, who lost a father. (He wouldn't let me see my father)
I guess we can only become better people after tragic happens.
But I want to thank you on your comments.
Hopefully you and I can get acquainted into friends. I'd like to get to know you and your poetry.
Take care of yourself and others. Marianne -

hmmm...... I too am studying for my GED. My parents started homeschooling me when I was 8, then when I moved to Iowa (blah!) I had to be enrolled into public school. I finally had enough of the people at my school, including the teachers, that I quit this year, my junior year, and decided to get my GED instead, since I couldn't graduate anyway.
Anywho, I'm prattling on. I'll ttyl!
Peace and Love,
