We all stew in our psycho chemical matrices. Most of the deeper ideas are too hard to explain, and will almost certainly be misinterpreted.

its intriguing and I'd like to know more wisdom, lol.

    thanks

There are a few new assignments and a whole group of new members along with some of those who have been there from the beginning in the group that was once known as "the elitists workshop", which is now known as "the poesie class". I am just dropping by to let you know this, as you haven't been active in the group for awhile now. For a few months there the group went quiet, but now it's back in order and we are trying to keep our members active and involved.

This is just a reminder that the group isn't dead and that there is plenty to do if you're interested.

If you no longer wish to participate or don't have the time, let us know and we will promptly remove you from the group.

    Thank you for your time.

The first strophe of the poem 'Postcards' by Margaret Atwood.

I'm thinking about you. What else can I say?
The palm trees on the reverse
are a delusion; so is the pink sand.
What we have are the usual
fractured coke bottles and the smell
    of backed-up drains, too sweet,
like a mango on the verge
of rot, which we have also.
    The air clear sweat, mosquitoes
& their tracks; birds & elusive.

I wish you a serene holiday season, Wayne.
    Have a great new year.

    Maria

I haven't been too active lately. I've started a new job, and I've been surfing, and sleeping too much for some reason. My AP life has been suffering greatly. I've got a group which needs much more attention than I've been giving it. My life is simply full of neglect. I should wake up and start paying some attention soon. Hope you're doing better.
  • kryspin on October 29, 2005
hey! it's been a while since I've heard from you, thought I'd drop you a line. But then i wondered "If i drop you a line, would it break?" and we wouldn't want broken lines everywhere! what a mess! all those dangling participles, fractured sentences with commas and semi colons just out of place. so let's not drop you a line, let's place it here neatly.

It's like a snuff film, in which they film someone being killed, only applied to poetry.

Well I read you regularly. Does that at least count as sort of something? Often your poems leave me speechless. That is a good thing. Not many around here do.

Can you hear the drums Fernando?
I remember long ago another starry night like this
    In the firelight Fernando
You were humming to yourself and softly strumming your guitar
I could hear the distant drums
And sounds of bugle calls were coming from afar

    They were closer now Fernando
Every hour every minute seemed to last eternally
I was so afraid Fernando ...

There was something in the air that night
    The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
    For liberty, Fernando
Though we never thought that we could lose
    There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
    I would, my friend, Fernando

I went and looked at your homo page, it is very lovely, I see it is a work in progress but I think it must be quite happy to have all your poems one a big, big page because it looks big.
  • Frederick on January 2, 2005
Thanks for your reaction to my comment...I have never cared what the "hep" people think and I am aware of what you so kindly pointed out to me...I reacted to what the poem spoke to me about and when someone does that it may not always be what the author intended in their imagery, however, for me, the sign of a good poet/poem is that it causes itself to grow and be truly alive by invoking an expandion of meaning!
