Cool pic on your page! Kinda freaky! Don't know if you saw the press release for Morning Star yet, but here it is: http.www.allpoetry.com/Column/2045898

There is a dedication to you in it for all the help, support and encouragement you gave me.

there once was a bloke known as Sandy
who fobbed himself off as a dandy
    though he fancied the ladies
    they shunned him like Hades
and the poor sot was left rather randy

okay, okay so it's a bit lame.. but it's been a while!

  • I-Like-Rhymes on March 31, 2006
    Hi,
I notice you claim to be a wordsmith rather than a poet. The critics said something similar about Rudyard Kipling [He is not a poet but merely a writer of verse] so you're in good company
If you feel inclined this is something I wrote on the same theme.

I shall return and devour your works tomorrow when my mind is fresh. Actually, it is always very fresh, but tomorrow it will be much FRESHER! I see you live in New Zealand and it's just as well because now I can't stalk you like I planned.
  • Seether on January 16, 2006
I can promise to be as erratic as always at reading, and I could conscript for you a never ending supply of readers.. devoted fans after just a taste of your delectable delights..

I think the masses will return in time, for the other dwelling despite the lack of regular regulation is a little laxs in some element ..

    Hey you... Pome Kiwi Man..
    I have seen you ..
and then I have seen you again

    Hey you.. Pome Kiwi Man..

If not I have it on good authority a cure for absense of muse type vocab if it seems to be sounding all the same..

I suppose it's the same thing really, one just makes an audible noise ..and one just disappears.. the demise of either is still the result.. not sure fading is any kinder.. just less dramatic.. lol
  • ArtFullyMe on December 28, 2005
I think they likely fade rather than pop... when the author cedes... to pop they'd still have to be rather full of hot air, and that's not usually the way it is when the wish to make them exist ceases to ..be important. would you agree??

Why wouldn't an atheist have as much a problem with wicca as with christianity?

    Aren't they both religions?
  • on August 19, 2005
    I fear that calculator heads
    are best served staying late in bed;
for the discourse of our nations
    is more affective with sensation,
    which spur chemical reactions
    that dictate our interactions
    and our humours and distractions
and our ires and our passions
and our need for ghostly masters
who will pat us on the asters
and reasure us we are vaster
    than our biologic pasteurs
    and then confirm our indignations
    are clearly justified by nature
and that those who don't embrace them
    are reprobate aberrations
    in need of irradication.

    Though my own mores demur
this is how our memes predure.
  • on August 17, 2005
I see your actually a athiest in that case, why the hell do you have a prob with wiccans ?
  • on August 12, 2005
Oh Silica, I'm on you're page.
I've not been on here for an age.
I thought I'd try to understand,
Why blue text lay on golden sand.

YIKES! You forgot to shave your face!
    That's just gross LOL!
  • silica on July 20, 2005
Hee hee – thanks Barb – I just couldn’t resist the temptation to improve my face with photo-trickery… the camera never lies!
  • Barb Davidson on July 20, 2005
    I looked in the mirror
    what did i see
    Imagine my surprise
When i saw the back of me,
    My neck needed shaving
    It was sprouting grey hair,
So i took scissors in hand
and sat back in the chair,
I snipped it and cut it,
    teased it into rows,
Now i wonder if i should risk
doing the hairs up my nose!

    Clever picture...
    Barb

You deserve applause for the limerick – especially the special cases enjambment but sadly one of Kevin’s flaws... here are no applause – but I’ll give you the clap later…

In New Zealand, a wordsmith named Silica
Made his home on a green grassy hillock -a
    Passing kiwi
    Looked, and noticed that he
    Had a curious double umbilica

"The reason, my fine flightless apteryx
Is this, as a matter of fact it is
    I'm a twice-born poet
    Let everyone know it
My parents are Xena and Asterix"
