My names is Marissa, but most people call me Rae. If you want to know anything about me, feel free to ask. I do not have all of my poetry on here. I have about 300 poems that are not on this site. When I'm not writing, I'm at church, or singing/playing my flute, reading














the scent is hope
that we are longing to gain
God's presence is in all
including what was once my pain
the scent is calming;especially after the rain












A prayer for the world
is what's needed these days
I ask that they find you Lord
and discover a new way

safe and secure
for those that believe
when the rapture comes
the sinful will be siezed

time is chasing us all
we are running out of time
if you give your heart to the Lord
you will be fine


the Lord will always be with you
do not be deceived
this is a prayer for the world
and all those who don't believe








the show must go on
no matter how bad it is
improv when you can
until the curtain lowers
for the whole world is your stage










Perfection from the heart
Lightly strumming the strings
All alone playing
You don’t seem to mind
In your heart
Never from the mind
Genuine music comes from the soul

So all alone you play
Only playing from your heart
Losing yourself in the music
Often coming from your soul















a lovely thing that was
now will never be
your love is like a wave
of the unruly sea

everything was set
for the perfect day
the day was like a sandcastle
that the sea washed away
everything was perfect

set up just waiting to fade
the memories were lovely
